2013 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class video series
Mercedes-Benz has released this group of videos including an enticing trailer (above) giving us our best look yet at the recently revealed new 2013 SL-class roadster.
The roadster features an electro-mechanical steering system, Active Body Control, and an aluminum-intensive body shell as well as a folding hard top, following in the footsteps of its predecessor.
There's a choice of two engines. The entry-level 3.5-liter V6 produces 302 hp (225 kW / 306 PS) and 273 lb-ft (370 Nm) of torque whilst the more powerful SL500 has a twin-turbo 4.7-liter V8 with 429 hp (320 kW / 435 PS) and 516 lb-ft (699 Nm) of torque.
The 2013 Mercedes SL-Class will be unveiled to the worlds media at the 2012 Detroit Motor Show in January.

Don wanna be harsh, but if I remember correctly (which I do), SL was originally designated for Soprty and Light. I agree on sport, but these have not been light for the past 20 years and over...

Yep... which means this is old news. Since, Mercedes has offered a much smaller, lighter, and sportier car. It's called an SLK. I believe it debuted as a 1998 model.

Daimler sales down 6.8% yoy, game set match back to the drawing board. I love the engineering, I hate the fake honey comb grille, I hate the bloated boot, the oh my so bland command system graphics.

Nice car...
But the SL it's one of those cars that I want to put off on purchasing until I am in my mid 50's.
It just looks proper when an older person drives it.
*About the videos...it just goes to prove how important soundtrack is on automotive videos...AND I hate it when two cars drive side-by side like that on a two lane road!!! ...I am being sarcastic BTW
