Could debut in Geneva

MINI has released the first teaser images of the 2012 Countryman JCW.

Currently undergoing testing in Austria, the model features an aggressive body kit with a front lip spoiler, aerodynamic side skirts and a new rear fascia. There's also a dual exhaust system, black body stripes and John Cooper Works badging.

On the handling front, the crossover will adopt a sport-tuned suspension with larger anti-roll bars and a 10mm reduced ride height. We can also expect beefier brakes and larger alloy wheels which can be seen in previous spy photos.

Power will likely be provided by a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine with 211 PS (155 kW / 207 hp) and 280 Nm (207 lb-ft) of torque. It should enable the crossover to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in less than 7.6 seconds.

The Countryman JCW will likely be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show, so stay tuned for additional information.

How come it doesn't work? They do a WRC version out of this frame! Prodrive wouldn't have chosen it if it didn't have some hidden goodies to this ride.
