Volkswagen planning sub-Tiguan crossover

In a recent interview, Volkswagen styling guru Walter de' Silva revealed the brand will launch a compact crossover to slot below the Tiguan.

Speaking with Automotive News Europe, de' Silva said "Crossover demand is expanding from mature markets to emerging markets and we have to cover this growing appetite with a multilateral expansion in the offer of our brands."

The designer also revealed the Cross Coupe concept doesn't preview the next-generation Tiguan. Despite this, the redesigned model will likely receive the concept's front fascia which features a wide grille and small bi-xenon headlights.
