Nissan Juke-R enjoys a wet Silverstone [video]

Nissan has already released nine teaser videos chronicling the development of the Juke-R, a bit long winded in our opinion. So maybe it is time to see the completed beast.

Thanks to Spanish automotive magazine AutoHebdoSport, who were given supervised access, we now have first scenes of the Frankenstein compact SUV in action at a rainy Silverstone.

The model is being developed jointly between Nissan Technology Center and motorsport outfit RML. It is powered by the Nissan GT-R's twin-turbo 3.8-liter V6 engine, the de-tuned unit's power is rated at 480 hp (486 PS / 358 kW).

Any which way you look at it it's still an ugly and useless SUV and the wasted effort and money to create this monstrosity could have gone to giving the rest of Nissan's CAR fleet some performance enhancement.

The standard car doesn't look like nice but this R is a nice car. I hope nissan puts this engine with 545 hp version into the FX

Seriously miss the point of this video. Time wasted showing the driver & passenger getting into the car, then only two short runs on the straight to see any acceleration at all. The rest of the time the car is below 40 miles per hour. There was no external footage of the car or track. And the music? Can we not hear the car? Is the car not the point of these videos? There is a place for music in videos, and it's called a "music video".
