Range Rover Grand Evoque coming in 2015 - report

Range Rover Grand Evoque coming in 2015 - report
Range Rover Evoque - 5.12.2011

Could offer seven seats

The Range Rover Evoque has received critical acclaim and a new report is indicating a larger variant is in the works for 2015.

Tentatively dubbed the 'Grand' Evoque, the model is slated to be approximately 300mm (11.8 inches) longer than the standard crossover. This would result in additional rear seat legroom and added cargo capacity, but the big news is the potential for a seven-seat interior.

Styling will be heavily influenced by the Evoque, but Land Rover will reportedly give the model a distinctive design to improve functionality and help distance itself from its smaller platform mate.

Engine options are unconfirmed, but rumors suggest there could be a new diesel, a hybrid and a turbocharged 1.8-liter petrol with up to 306 hp (228 kW / 310 PS).

The rear windows are too small. I went to Puerto Rico with my kids, and rented a vehicle which had "small" rear windows. Every time I said "look at that!" they would respond with "WHAT?" - since they could NOT SEE due to the high profile of the rear doors. SOME OF US do take our Land Rovers OFF ROAD! The kids should not have to get out of the vehicle to see an Iguana, or to see if you're gonna hit the boulder. Put bigger windows or give me the Jeep Dealership's number please!

So what of the new 'proper' Range Rover then? I personally don't see the point of a larger Evoque. But hey, whatever sells right?

I saw an Evoque on display at Fashion Island and when I saw the $55k sticker price, I had to go to Starbucks to get a Frapuccino and come back to the car so I could spit out my drink in shock. However, I am really impressed with 306 hp from a 1.8L turbo!

LMAO - I wouldn't need to see the car, Starbucks generally makes me want to spit out with their drinks.....Costa coffee on the other hand, far superior (which I dont think has entered stateside, yet!). Agreed, 1.8 and 306 Horses sounds amazing! Go Land Rover.
