BMW X6 M50d teased? [video]
The diesel M?
BMW has released a new teaser video which appears to show an upcoming X6 M.
No details were released, but speculation suggests the model is the X6 M50d. If this is the case, we can expect the crossover to feature a tri-turbo 3.0-liter diesel engine with 381 PS (280 kW / 375 hp) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque.
Regardless of what it is, the strategic blurring suggests the model will receive new LED head- and taillights.

BMW should offer a university degree for its nomenclature! X6 M550d? I get the X6 and 'd' parts, but whats the M and 550 for?

The correct is X6 M50d or X6 M xdrive50d. M550d stands for the F10 5-series that may have the same engine.

this is definetly not an new (a replacement I mean) x6m. the body looks more like a regular x6 than an M version of it. I would be sad if this car is the diesel x6m with the regular body of an x6 and 375hp. the fact that bmw is makink diesel M cars is sad enough to consider...

Offering an "M" badge worthy, diesel high performance motor is the best move any of the luxury auto makers can make. Keep in mind that this is a 6 cylinder and its making over 500ft/lb torque stock. Impressive. I wonder what type of fuel consumption this engine gets. Imagine what type of gains that could be had with an ecu reflash, exhaust, and intake (450hp, 750ft/lb torque)? Once other manufacturers see how great this powertrain sells, they will be soon to follow.
