Nissan Juke-R: The Finishing Touches [video]

A realistic performance concept

Nissan has released the ninth installment of their series which chronicles the development of the Juke-R concept.

In the latest clip, dubbed Finishing Touches, engineers discuss the challenges of making the concept look like a standard production model. To do this, they installed original components to make the interior as realistic as possible. Additionally, the matte black exterior is painted and wrapped to ensure any damage is virtually unnoticeable.

As we have previously reported, the Juke-R features a GT-R sourced twin-turbo 3.8-liter V6 engine with 480 hp (486 PS / 358 kW). Performance specifications haven't been released, but might be announced sometime next week.

VIDEO 9 - FINISHING TOUCHES

Juke-R is not a stripped-out racing machine; it has all the interior comforts you'd expect from a road car.

Juke's dashboard and centre console have been carefully merged with GT-R's controls, with carpets fitted throughout. Outside, the Juke-R's matt black paint scheme will be vinyl-wrapped as well as painted, to make sure that it is protected from stone chips. Once all the finishing touches are completed, the car will hit the track to be tested for the first time.

Next up should be the Maxima-R! The early 90's model Nissan Maxima with manual shift was great sedan. They need more of that in this new maxima. Its just bigger and slightly more hp than the Altima.

No not the maxima. They should do this with the Infiniti models. An FX-R, G38-R (engine size) and M-R would be awsome and with a 480 hp for G models and 545 hp for FX and M models are enough to scare the Germans.

Sure its looks arent for everybody, sure its going to cost a helluva lot of money, but this thing is so damn cool. The effort Nissan put into building this ensures that you're getting the best build quality Nissan can offer. I wonder why they just didnt make it a 2 door since there are no back seats, and a huge roll cage inside? At the very least I hope they extend the seat travel to accomodate 7 footers.
