Renault & Nissan developing a Tata Nano competitor - report
Could be priced from ?2,500
According to a recent report, Renault and Nissan are developing an entry-level model which could be priced from €2,500 ($3,345).
Slated for emerging markets, the vehicle will reportedly ride on a new platform and measure approximately 3.6 meters (11.8 feet) long. Given its speculated price, the car could compete with the Tata Nano.
It remains unclear if the mystery model is the previously announced ULC compact, but official information could be released early next year.

This isn't related to the Bajaj ULC, the ULC is now Bajaj's own "4 wheeler" project that will be deployed into the market for moving people. The agreement was Bajaj will engineer and manufacture the car and if Renault bosses are satisfied with it, Bajaj would make the same vehicle with Renault diamonds. The Renault mini car Michael has written about above is a completely new platform and the same component set could be used for manufacturing a slightly larger hatch. My sources tell me Renault is working on at least two cars under the Pulse (pictured here, its the Micra with cosmetic upgrades and will launch at the Delhi Auto Expo) one to challenge the Hyundai i10 and the other to gun for the Suzuki Alto/Hyundai Eon.
