Toyota FT-86 teased by Gazoo Racing [video]
Debuts later this year
Gazoo Racing has released a new promotional video that features the Toyota FT-86.
Most of the footage chronicles their work with the Lexus LFA, but skipping to the 4:21 mark rewards you with 30 seconds of FT-86 goodness.
As we have previously reported, the car will be unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show with 2.0-liter Boxer engine that develops 200 PS (147 kW / 197 hp) and 205 Nm (151 lb-ft) of torque. This doesn't sound like much, but the coupe only weighs 1,210 kg (2,668 lbs).

Really looking forward to the release of the FT86 and BRZ. Having said that, it is not a patch on the original concept which was much more modern and edgy.
Toyota have predictably caved and softened it but it is still a fine looking car nonetheless. Finally something appealing with a Toyota badge on the front again.

I am a Toyota fan, but I have noticed every time they have an edgy, sex appealing design they recourse to the very conservative/tasteless for the final product. Seems like they settle between extremes of design from this iteration for the celica(cheap/boring) to the LF-A(exotic/eye-poking styling) no middle ground in the crosshairs. It would be a novel idea to perhaps stick to the concepts which does have a better eye appeal as a final product from the Celica to the LF-A before who knows which dept in the company rules in the final say. I am truly hoping they distinguish the Scion FR-S with the upcoming Toyota Celica because it looks cheaply done from headlights/tailights/overall front & rear skirts! If there is going to be any healthy sales on this vehicle is just going to be on Toyota's quality talents only nothing more!!!
