 2015 Corvette ZR1 gets rendered
2015 Corvette ZR1 Rendering - 15.11.2011 / Jalopnik

Accurate or not?

Jalopnik.com has claimed they were given the opportunity to spend several hours with two undisguised 2014 Corvettes.

While this sounds remarkable, the website apparently received some help from employees within GM. Photographs weren't taken, but a designer commissioned by Jalopnik has created this rendering which is being touted as an accurate representation of the next-generation ZR1.

Healthy skepticism aside, the picture reveals an aggressive looking sports car with a ventilated hood, sharp lines and a unique greenhouse. Out back, there's Camaro-inspired tail lights and a center-mounted four-tailpipe exhaust system which echoes the Corvette Stingray concept.

GM responded on Facebook by saying "We appreciate their enthusiasm but you'll have to wait a little longer to see what the next Corvette will actually look like."

I don't think so. Too much Ferrari if you ask me. But then again, Chevy might be going for that in their design house.

So far judging by whatever the rendering reveals, it looks good. More slick and aggressive.

 Velocity? Velocity?
Since when did the Camaro become such the stylistic icon that the Corvette had to have anything designed insired by it? I was liking the thing up until that point..

Dissapointing i was hoping it would look exactly like the sting ray concept that looked great, this looks like a ferrari 599 a gtr a camaro and corvete had a gangbang and this chimera was the result. I hope this isnt real

That's what I thought. Seems to have a similar roof-line to the GT-R.

Yeah dont count on that being the new vette, The design who design the vette are so creative. Sad though cause it's not that bad, you still see the vette in the render but more updated and a touch so supercar presence.

The supposed "ZR1" they apparently saw is too busy and has too many vents and things on it for my taste, so I tried toning it down and predicting the standard version using GIMP: http://picturestack.com/462/240/ExeChevroletCjuq.png

1) UGLY! 2) If Chevy waits till 2015 to launch a new Vette, they're screwed. 3) Jalopnik is a joke of a site.

Why would they be screwed if they wait until 2015? It would give them more time to get the car right. In fact, they most likely won't be screwed anyway; GM takes the Corvette seriously.

Take this sketch and merge it with the new Daytona race track car Corvette that was pictured running Motorsport testing and you got the future!
