2013 McLaren MP4-12C Spider spied for first time
Could having a folding hardtop
The McLaren MP4-12C Spider has been rendered and rumored, but here are the first spy photos of the upcoming model.
Caught undergoing testing in southern Europe, the prototype has a camouflaged roof and rear window area that reportedly hide a retractable hardtop. We can't see much in the photos, but the roof is expected to be similar to the one used on the Ferrari 458 Spider.
Regardless of the final details, the convertible will be powered a twin-turbo 3.8-liter V8 engine with 600 PS (441 kW / 592 hp) and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) of torque.

Why can't Ferrari, Lambo, Porsche or McLaren do a proper Targa? Just look at Fiat 500's droptop.

refinement issues, I guess...
tbh, the Fezza 458 Spider is kinda a Targa as only the roof flips. Which makes it look like the roof has been taken off
