2012 Hyundai Azera teased [video]

Debuts in Los Angeles

Hyundai has released the first teaser video of the 2012 Azera, ahead of its debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

Essentially a rebadged Grandeur, the model will have HID headlights, LED tail lights, a dual exhaust system and 19-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, the cabin can be equipped with leather seats, a panoramic sunroof and a seven-inch touchscreen display.

Power will be provided by an undisclosed V6 engine with 293 hp (218 kW / 297 PS). It will enable the sedan to return an estimated 29 mpg highway.

Additional information will be released tomorrow, so stay tuned for full coverage of the car's unveiling.

Yes, another cash cow for Hyundai. I saw this car and the design was 'freakingly' appealing. Hyundai is doing a good job and would carve a niche in the hearts of car aficionados.

I've been heavily researching the new Azera (Grandeur in other markets around the world) for almost a year. I WANT ONE SO BAD!!!! So far it has increased it's value all around. The following are some of the options I've seen on this vehicle already. Smart access with push button start. LED "brow" above the HID headlamps. LED wrap around tail lamps. High mounted LED stop light. Panoramic roof. Rain sensing wipers. Auto defogging system. Rearview camera with guidance lines. Saw a few with a front view camera and around view monitor. Larger center stack with improved navigation. I've seen the navigation with a birds-eye-view and 3D overlay. I've also seen JBL and Dolby audio emblems in some of the vehicles, but I believe the US will get an 8 (+) speaker Infinity Audio System. Aux, iPod and USB integration. Supervision cluster in gauges (ex: 2011-2012 Kia Optima SX). Automatic Parking Assist System (ex: Lincoln MKS, Ford Explorer) with parking sensors front and rear. Adaptive cruise control. Lane Departure Warning. LED mood lighting throughout the vehicle (blue). Unique LED lighting in center consoles. Illuminated door sills. Power rear sunshade. Manual rear side window sunshades. Electronic parking brake. Multi-function steering wheel. Bluetooth. Active Eco. Cooled glovebox. Dual zone automatic climate control. Heated and ventilated front seats. Heated steering wheel. Power tilt and telescoping steering wheel. Heated rear seats. Driver seat with massage functions. Memory front seats with lumbar and seat cushion extender. Power seat control for driver and passenger on doors (ex: Mercedes). Rear fold down armrest with slideout cupholders, mutifunction buttons and storage bin. Three interior colors: beige, black, dark brown. Three different trim options including 2 wood accents and a carbon fiber option. Wood trim also on steering wheel. It has the same black floor and footwells as Sonata and Genesis. More airbags including knee and rear side air bags. Three wheel/tire options. Power folding sideview mirrors with LED turn signal indicators. Chrome tipped dual exhaust integrated into the rear bumper. I believe it will have a 6-speed automatic transmission mated to a GDi V6 engine. Other markets have three engine choices: a 2.4 liter, a 3.0 liter, and a 3.3 liter. No paddle shifters that I've noticed. I think that's about it. Also you can go to Hyundai Worldwide and see it already. It's been posted in the "Showroom" for months. This isn't really a tease. Thanks for reading!

Wow...you really want this car really bad and did some serious research! Either that or you work for Hyundai. If you don't they really should hire you since you are so enthusiastic about their car. BTW...my brother-in-law just bought one. As you mentioned it is impressive because of all the feautres you mentioned above. It makes my E-Class look like spartan cab. But riding dynamics aren't quite sporting. Nice cruising car. But the steering is too light for doing any serious high-speed cruising. Anything above 130km/h and you start feeling nervous. But as transportation goes...it's nice. A definite step above the Sonata...and better than the Lexus ES.

I'll take that as a compliment! I do not work for any car company though. I do this sort of thing for most cars I find the least bit intriguing. My family thinks I should go into something car related for that same reason. Just wish someone would hire me... lol... and Thanks for that comment! :)

Wait, how can you tease something that I have been seeing on the roads for about 4 months now?! The new Azera is out in many parts of the world, so you can't really say that it is being 'teased' now.
