Jaguar XKR-S Convertible confirmed for LA debut
Revised Land Rover Defender concepts also announced
Jaguar has announced plans to introduce the XKR-S Convertible at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
Like the coupe, the convertible will feature an aggressive body kit and a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine with 550 PS (405 kW / 542 hp) and 680 Nm (501 lb-ft) of torque. It will likely enable the car to accelerate from 0-60 mph in less than 4.5 seconds.
In related news, Land Rover will showcase two Defender concepts. Essentially the same vehicles that debuted at the Frankfurt Motor Show, the crossovers will have revised paint jobs and different wheels.

Making its global debut at the Show will be the 550 PS XKR-S Convertible which joins the XKR-S Coupé as the fastest and most powerful production Jaguars ever created.
Jaguar will also show the award winning Jaguar C-X16 Production Concept - combining hybrid technology with a highly responsive 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine beneath a beautifully styled body created by Director of Design, Ian Callum.
Land Rover, on the heels of the globally successful launch of the Range Rover Evoque, will be showcasing two design concepts, the DC100 (hard top) and DC100 Sport (open top) at the Show. The two concepts from Land Rover investigate the potential future design direction of the iconic Defender. The concepts capture the flexibility, adaptability and configurability that have always been key attributes of Land Rover and continue in today's Defender.
The DC100 concept has been reconfigured for its North American debut to highlight the breadth of capability. Land Rover DC100 concept will be revealed with a new body colour and different wheels and tyres. Body colour changed to 'Heritage Blue' and new wheels and tyres optimised for off-road driving.
Following their initial global debuts at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, the Jaguar C-X16 and Land Rover DC100 Sport were awarded top honours for Best in Show and Best Concept respectively by AutoWeek Magazine. The company will be getting feedback from show attendees on its Jaguar and Land Rover concepts for future consideration.
