2012 BMW 1-Series on the assembly line [video]

Watch and see how the new 1-Series is built on a BMW assembly line

This video is part of a series called Two Originals which previously featured the two Lund brother who each drive their own favorite variant of the 2012 BMW 1-Series.

This time, the two are taken on a tour of BMW's Regensburg plant where the new 1-Series is made.

The video shows the process from the beginning where the steel is pressed to make the body shell of the 1-Series. Then comes the paint and the assembly.

Over 1,000 units of eight different models are built at the plant every day.

I was reading the comments and I agree with vilivo. I can't imagine anyone other than a BMW fanatic or owner being interested in this...this is not a Ferrari or an exotic car...its just an assembly line...boring. I think BMW is trying a little too hard to make the 1 series seem special and justify its price against its market rivals.

Lol, I may knock its looks, but the mid- range models do what they do well. Apart from the price, I think they compare well to similarly powered and outfitted models from VW, Ford, etc. I know it may sound daft, but that is the comparison I make, as the 1 series and A3 are there to get premium sales in those exact cars market...
