New Tesla Roadster coming in 2014 - report
Entry-level sedan also rumored
Tesla has bitterly defended the outgoing Tesla Roadster and now there's word the company is developing a successor.
Set to be introduced in 2014, the redesigned model will reportedly be based on a new platform which could be a shortened version of the architecture that underpins the Tesla Model S. More interestingly, the platform could also spawn an entry-level sedan which would be about the same size as the BMW 3-Series.

After all the hard work/ ups and downs, I really hope Tesla stays in the market. It is a struggle to work with low economies of scale and produce such a complex product. Let us see 10 years from now if they would still be here.

This is true. Most probably they would have a proposal to a company like GM or such that is already in the works of similar technologies.

That is why they are working with Lotus and Lotus with Toyota (BMW as well now, at least with the concept for the Esprit which had the BMW V8).
