Nissan surprises an audience at a media event with a live look at the complete Juke-R in the flesh

Nissan has unveiled the Juke-R to a surprised audience during a Crossover media event in Malaga, Spain.

Those select few were the first to see the complete Juke-R in the metal. For the media, Nissan only provided this one image of the Juke R, though, published here.

Nissan will be making just two versions of the Juke-R - one right-hand drive and one left. The two units are being built by motorsport outfit RML in partnership with the Nissan Technology Center for Europe. Nissan will begin testing of the Juke-R next month (November).

Specs on the Juke-R haven't yet been released yet but the powerful compact SUV will feature the drivetrain from the Nissan GT-R which includes a twin-turbo 3.8 liter V6 unit with an output of 530 PS (390 kW / 520 hp).

NISSAN JUKE-R UNVEILED: FIRST IMAGE OF THE ULTIMATE COMPACT CROSSOVER

NISSAN MAKES SHOCK JUKE-R UNVEIL DURING CROSSOVER PRESS EVENT IN MALAGA

The world has been given its first glimpse of Nissan's ultimate compact crossover: Juke-R.

Unveiled at a Nissan Crossover media launch in Malaga, Spain, Juke-R shocked an unsuspecting audience when it was revealed as a ‘surprise guest' at the end of the press conference. Shown for the first time in the metal, Juke-R continues to create a huge reaction, harnessing the bold design of Nissan's provocative Juke with the speed and power of the company's flagship GT-R...... creating the world's fastest, most innovative, crossover.

Just two versions of the Nissan Juke-R are being created, one in each of left-hand and right-hand drive. The cars have been developed by Nissan and are being built by leading motorsports outfit RML with input from Nissan Technology Centre for Europe (NTC-E). Testing of the car will begin in November.

I don't understand something. They said last week or so that this car wasn't going to be built and now it's not the case?

Read the article again; only TWO units are being built (or already have been built), one RHD and one LHD. Two cars does not make a production run :)

I have a feeling a more powerful Juke is on the way. Something perhaps using a slightly less powerful 370Z engine. Personally I think they should just put in a 4 cylinder turbo engine with about 280bhp.

suv's need torque, and a 280hp 4cyl is going to have turbo lag

Probably not any more with today's technologies, especially when you see how Mitsubishi and Subaru could shave so much lag of their turbo 4-pot yet still retaining their great wallop of torque.
