Genty Akylone officially unveiled [video]

Top speed of 354 km/h (220 mph)

Here we go again with another mysterious startup firm, this time from Saint Yorre, France, with ambitions to build a supercar.

Following numerous teasers, the unknown company, Genty Automobile, with an address that is in the middle of nowhere according to Google maps street view, has released a fancy animation video of their Akylone supercar. But as always the case with these fly by night supercar companies, there's no proof of their products or development whatsoever.

Specs released are from your typical a la carte menu at the supercar cafe. Described as the "subtle alchemy between pure performance and emotion," the bespoke supercar has an aggressive front fascia, a steeply raked roofline, a prominent rear diffuser and a drag coefficient of 0.35.

Inside, the cabin is relatively stark but features sports seats, an infotainment system and a wide center console.

Power comes from an alleged twin-turbo 4.8-liter V8 engine with more than 1,000 hp (746 kW / 1014 PS) and 940 lb-ft (1,273 Nm) of torque. It is connected to seven-speed sequential transmission which enables the 1,100 kg (2,425 lbs) Akylone to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 2.7 seconds and hit a top speed of 354 km/h (220 mph). Other highlights include rear-wheel drive, carbon ceramic brakes and a carbon fiber / aluminum chassis.

Naturally, there's no word on pricing, but if the Akylone actually exists, production will be limited to 15 units.

You can draw your own conclusions but we're not holding our breath until we see it in the metal.

Production line??? With a 15 unit of limited production agenda, it seems there is no production line either

Well this car does not look bad actually - i like the compactness somehow, but it really lacks personality - as already commented below to many things looks like something others have already done. Being French it should have some more "Avant Garde" or just something that clearly defines that this is a French supercar. I must also agree that the video does not do the trick - it?s very difficult to pull off this kind of video and reach a nearly photorealistic result - it will turn out to look like a video game and that is really bad for a car that is supposed be real. No offence to the ones that did it - they properly did their best within the setup frame/budget. But an interview and some development sketches would have done the job better IMO. Actually when i think about it some Video games looks better than this vid. Anyway good luck you will need it.

All that power with a 1100 kg and only 354 km? This is a disappointing.

top speed has to do with aerodynamics, not weight. this car probably has a lot of downforce for stability, that kills its aerodynamics and its top speed.

with that weight and 1100hp it should be much faster...the Pagani Huayra does that top speed with 300hp less and 200kg more! that Genty is a one-day fly.

it's because of the Huayra's trick active aerodynamic flaps.

koenigsegg agera front meets Mclaren MP4-12 rear with Aston 1-77 inspired lights with the shape resembling halfway between a noble m600 and maserati MC12, and a porsche cayenne turbo S lump in the back? me thinks it looks good.

It looks great other than the 90s headlights. Bar them, I don't care if it has borrowed from other cars (which, with enough imagination, can be done for any car).
