2012 BMW 3-Series interior - 12.10.2011 / Jokeforblog

Debuts on Friday

If you're anxiously awaiting the unveiling of the 2012 BMW 3-Series, here's a couple of spy photos to tide you over until Friday.

Looking modern and fresh, the cabin is completely redesigned with a new dashboard that has a wide swath of wood trim. There's also a new audio head unit, a two-section center console and a freestanding (or possibly pop-up) iDrive display.

As we have previously reported, the car will be slightly larger than the current model and have styling influenced by the 5-Series. A variety of engines will be available and we'll have full coverage of its debut on October 14th.

"styling influenced by the 5-Series" which mean its going to look exactly the same as the F10, just smaller

One thing I don't like about it is the cup holders in front of the shifter. Spilling problems:)

It's a matter of personal taste. I sat inside Panamera but didn't like the interior, even though I like Porsche.

I see BMW is still using those ugly boring gauges.

So boring. BMW is so unimaginative!! It's fine to share similarities, but the 5 and 7 share about 65-70% of the same parts. The new 3er, will look just like the 5. I had 4 E46 BMWs, and they were awesome (2005 Interlagos Bluw M3 was the BEST). My last 4 new BMWs (2008-2011) were just awful..full of battery, electrical and computer issues!

I dunno. The whole thing looks a little ho-hum to me. The wood inlay looks like an after thought and the entire design doesn't look fluid from left to right. And why not go with an e-parking brake and free up more room for the i-drive controls, or at least put it in the centre of the console where it makes ergonomic sense. Pictures of the interior of the new A6 and E-class should line the walls of bmw's interior design department.

It looks like a variation of the new 1 series interior, which is disappointing.
