Looks like some kind of Audi- its their typical rear. I doubt its the A class as it looks abt as wide as the CLS.

Other than a cool hearse I don't see the point for Merc to make this just, like the 5er GT.

Can't wait for this car! Nice to see CLS leading the way in another new body style, after so many others copied the original

Such a cool car this is going to be. More carmakers should rekindle the shooting brake!

Its funny how they called it shooting brake. When ur working on the brakes of a benz, u have to turn off the braking system. After you do that and remove the caliper, if another benz with the same model and approx yr pulls up next to your car, the brake system on the car ur working on turns on and shoots the the piston out of the caliper :P

not a big fan of this car, it rather looks like a luxurious funeral hearse. perfect for a mob boss

The compromise of style over space loses me. Besides, it's more likely if Mercedes follows in the others' path it won't come to North America. Instead, we can look forward to another overwrought, bloated POS SUV in it's place.

EPIC FAIL! there is no market for this type of car what a waste of R&D fund!

I think your hope won't come, MB people aren't that stupid to make a car for nobody, even the 5GT sales isn't bad if global sales is considered (not only NA market). It is for peopel whow ant to buy a Jag XF but don't want to have typical Jag's problem, so they buy a CLS, and CLS Shooting Brake to subtitute XF estate (probably next gen)

Jag's problem? MB arent known for their reliability everyone knows that! MB people arent stupid? the R and GL are global fails. They are design for the NA market which likes big over size SUV yet they arent selling in NA or anywhere but thats nothing compare to the 5GT aka german Pontiac Aztec. I doubt it that after all these years the 5GT had broke even with how much BMW spent on its R&D. The original CLS was Iconic but after they hired that japanese head designer to redo it MB lost me big! It was one of my favorite car ever but now it lost its Iconic tail light for the Maxima's tail light! I guess thats what u get when u hired a Japanese designer to redo a german master piece... u got a Nissan! I love many MB cars but im not going to be a silly fan boy who think they are infalliable! This CLS wagon will not make it into production it will be just a concept show piece. it might be a marketing fail if it goes into production but it is still an interesting piece.

It is awesome and will be loved by undertakers due the huge rear overhang, very comfy.

This reminds me of a joke (beore any1 freaks, we have 2x mercs in the family and I respect all cars). This man climbs into a Taxi and after 20 minutes driving, emembers he wants 2 ask the driver something, so he leans forward and taps him on the shoulder. The driver proceeds to have a freak out and drive the car into a tree. Post- accident the passenger apologises 2 the driver 4 startling him, 2 which the driver responds with "Its really my bad, its only my 2nd day on the job, so a tap on the shoulder isnt something im used 2...", when the passenger asks him what he did B4, the driver responds "I was a hearse driver until 3 days ago...". No harm meant, just sayin...

And now why would the e-classT model exist? Looks like inventing hot water. CLS has meaning to have but this version of it is pointless

a CLS is more Luxury than a E-Class, so this is just a better and stylish "e-class T-model". And it's cool.. isn't it? Some guys want a stylish sporty luxury car with a lot of room - so now they buy a cls shooting brake
