Next-generation 2012 BMW 3-Series is due for an unveiling on October 14 - M3 variant will follow in late 2013 as a 2014 model

Artist known as WildSpeed has rendered the 2014 BMW M3 sedan.

The next-generation M3 may come to feature a new six-cylinder power plant but no details have been confirmed. There have been reports that BMW will create a new triple-turbo six-pot or a turbocharged V6 (yes, V6) for the next M3.

But a previous report said that a new triple-turbo 3.2 liter unit producing 450 PS (331 kW / 444 bhp) was the front-runner for the next M3.

The next-generation 2012 BMW 3-Series is due for an unveiling on October 14.

Check out the source link below to check out the rendering in several colors.

If that's the final design, then it's disappointing, especially given the new designs at Mercedes-Benz. I'm a BMW fan but their designs have been too soft lately.

With styling like this and a tri-turbo, the M3 is starting to get a whole lot better.

It's basically a squashed M5, but that isn't a bad thing. The wide bodykit looks great on the 3.

That design is soo much better than the current one and will sell like crazy. Mercedes and Audi fanboys are the ones who will hate

If this this a close renderings of what BMW 3 series going to look like then Mr Adrian Van Hooydonk is nothing creative but a copycat, taking queues from Jaguar's. Ian Callum!! Pathetic!!!

Even as a rendering, not impressive. The e42 M3 in my mind is still the best looking M3.

Nice rendering. Anything is an improvement over the last car. The coupe is going to be beautiful.

wow, tri-turbo in an M3. not only that the die hard supporters of the NA M3 will think that this will kill the original M3 (sorry for repeating)... but i think putting an over engineered, unecesary, engine bay crowded and heat disipating inline 6 tri-turbo (with not an impressive HP score, i might add) it will Anihilate the original M3; freaking slap in the face, Mortal Kombat fatality. sad :(

"...not an impressive HP score" ??? Really? So, what do you think is an impressive HP figure for a 3.2, since 450 is not??
