Gun shooting Saudi drifting is brilliantly scary [video]

A smooth new asphalt motorway with a constant layer of blowing sand makes for great drifting conditions. As a result, a Saudi Arabian style of drifting has emerged in recent years and it is known as Hagwalah.

With little regard for surrounding traffic, practitioners of Hagwalah take their vehicles to the limits of control by drifting at high speeds from left curb to right.

Taken to the extreme, as seen in this video, Hagwalah passengers are seen hanging out of the windows during a high-speed session. It's also not uncommon to see them shooting automatic assault rifles into the air.

At 0:40 in the video, a Honda Accord is seen doing a 360 degree spin past a school bus filled with lots of people. Other front wheel drive vehicles seen Hagwalah-ing in the video include the Toyota Camry and Hyundai Sonata.

To quote a YouTube commenter, "Hagwalah is illegal and the people involved defy the police and government - a lot of them are actually in prison."

That driver is a total arsehole. Doing that kind of lunatic driving next to a school bus and a tanker is staggeringly stupid. I hope the police catch him and put him away for a long time. It's not brilliantly scary. It's stupid and should not be on here.

I don't recall this website posting such non-sense. I'd rather see car news not idiocy, or stereotype promotions.

It is truly disappointing to find WCF posting sh*t like this. It may be impressive driving, but who gives a fvck when this is clearly abandoning any sense of reason. I'm a car nut through and through, but this is neither brilliant nor scary. Its just stupid!

Since when did WCF turned into a tabloid. This isn't the quality expected from WCF and it's not even news anymore, been posted elsewhere a while ago. I am from Saudi and I have to say, WCF just lost a rank or 2 in my book. On another note, our school busses look different. The typical yellow school busses are usually purchased cheaply from the US and shipped to Saudi to transport low-wage construction workers to/from work sites. And just so everybody know, this is not a common scenery, this lunacy is practiced in the far outskirts of couple of cities, typically with stolen cars and they are typically gay. Yup, ask anyone who can read arabic to read the stickers on the rear windshields. Word has it that they seat their "boys" in the back seats lol

Thanks for all of the honest feedback everyone. I really appreciate it! The reality of the situation is that WCF is an internet magazine whose goal is to reach as many people as possible. Some may say that WCF is "selling out" and that's fine but we're not rock stars. We are a small internet business trying to survive in the most balanced way we know. As Mister Stig mentioned above, if the story doesn't interest you, please move along to the next. If this is not good enough, you're free to never come back to WCF as well, although that's not what we want. However, survival of the fittest is in full effect here, and WCF needs to be as competitive as ever. As some comments mentioned above, many of you visit several car news sites in addition to WCF. We can't be so naive or full of ourselves to believe that WCF is the only automotive destination that you visit. So we have to try and be as competitive as we can and these types stories is an area where we are weakest compared to our competitors. When the WCF redesign is launched, which is very soon, this issue will be addressed as all "Auto Trash" category stories will be removed from the main news headlines so those who do not wish to see them don't have to. As unrealistic as it may be, we're trying our best to satisfy everyone.
