New details are starting to emerge about the upcoming Audi Q4, Q6 and Q7.
First up, the Q6 will be based the facelifted Q5 and launched in 2013. Engine options will reportedly carryover from the Q5, but there's word of a new four-cylinder diesel - with 143 PS (105 kW / 141 hp) and 177 PS (130 kW / 175 hp) - as well as a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 TDI that develops 300 PS (221 kW / 296 hp) and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque.
On the other hand, the Q4 will be based on the second-generation Q5 and available exclusively as a three-door model. A launch is rumored for 2016 and a plug-in hybrid system - with a 2.0 TFSI petrol engine, a 40 kW (54 PS / 54 hp) to 60 kW (82 PS / 80 hp) electric motor and a 10-15 kWh battery - could enable it to travel up to 50 km (31 miles) on electricity alone.
Lastly, the next-generation Q7 will go into production in 2014. Riding on the new MLB-evo platform, the model is expected to weigh approximately 350 kg (771 lbs) less than the current vehicle. To maximize efficiency, the engine lineup will reportedly be downsized and include a 2.0 TFSI with 220 PS (162 kW / 217 hp) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque as well as plug-in hybrid powertrain that consists of a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 and a 60 kW (82 PS / 80 hp) electric motor.
