Wasnt one-off, they'd done the homework and were actually gonna mass-produce it. BMW had one in the 80s too called "project goldfish" and even GM engineered one in the early 2000s, with pushrods! lol

Damn auto correct. Camaro not Canaries. That engine is still for sale as a crate. 572cid 720hp in the high compression version.

The V16 does actually exist as a full functional car. Not production though. I'm quite sure they used an identical V12 in the moving shots. Radmeister - whats a 572 ci GM engine got to do with this story? You are aware that engine is a V8, aren't you?

Yes i know what the 572CID is, one of my buddies' dad has a 1969 camaro with a supercharged 572 crate. I typed my comment on my cellphone and it autocorrected camaro to canaries and when i clicked edit it deleted my old post...I was stating that the 9L pushrod engine GM did in the 2000s was the V8, or the one in the Cadillac Sixteen Concept of 2003 but that was a 13.6L, the Cien had a 7.5L V12.

BMW made a few Phantoms with V16 engines and they lent one for the film. i wonder what made them decide that a V16 was too much, probably the price of the engine.

The 6.75L is the same engine with 4 cylinders cut off, it was a last minute decision, they didn't have time to design a whole new engine. By my calculations the 9L would have 604hp and 708lb-ft of torque. To tell you truth i'm surprised they didn't upgrade the engine yet, I would like to see that 6.75L V12 twin-turbo charged :D Personally in this limousine category i think the Maybach has the best engine. 630hp 738lbft 8 year 200,000km warranty!!.
