This story has been circulating for a while but nothing has been confirmed by Audi. They would have to make an RS4 sedan if they plan on selling it in North America. Audi has always fitted the A5 (and variants) with engines whose days were numbered while the A4 always had the latest. Therefore I wouldn't be surprised to see the new 4.0T that is in the S6/S7/S8. This engine demonstrates it flexibility in that it can develop 414-520 bhp. It's widely thought that the current S4 develops 365-375hp and not the 333 as advertised. I would think an RS4 would have to have minimum 450hp. And God intended for RS4s to be sedans and estates and M3s coupes.

V8 or V6? With the A4 facelift due I'd think V8 so they save the V6 for the B9 RS4 but I hope they go with the original RS4 formula; twin turbo V6 in estate only body!

Hopefully it won't be a fail like the overhyped RS5. However, I feel should it match the M3 finally, it would be short lived, As the next generation is not too far away. I'm sure we know where the smart money is...
