ugly as expected. how can it be a "100% Maserati" being based on a Grand Cherokee. I am not expecting maserati to create an SUV for the first time without any help but saying "100% Maserati" is weird

def not ugly. The Grand Cherokee is made from the same platform as the Mercedes Benz ML SUV so it's a good platform. I like the styling and the Ferrari engine. Some of you people hate SUVs/Crossovers so much you can't see past your point of view. If this works for Maserati like it did for Porsche with the Cayenne it will be a success. I guess you feel that the entire Lotus line is fake also as they have toyota engines? Aston Martin must also be a sham as their 12 cylinder engine was sourced from Ford ? I guess even Porsche must not meet your standards as they have some Audi/VW engines and shared components...? We could also talk about the variation of the VOLTec powertrain in use in Fisker ? I could go on and on but lets end with the King of automotive sharing Toyota...no Lexus is 100% Lexus right ?...they are just rebadged, more expensive Toyotas...

autoficianado slow down buddy. I didn't say it was wrong that Maserati is using the Grand Cherokee platform. I said it is weird that they say it is "100 % Maserati". I hope you get it now. You said: "Some of you people hate SUVs/Crossovers so much you can't see past your point of view" but I am an X6M driver so this is also untrue. This can absolutely work for Maserati and I hope it does, but I personally didn't like it and that's all...

Shumy, I am not that easy to bait, I can see you are just stirring up things...you are talking about your opinion and thats fine but I am talking facts and it has nothing to do with which brand I like... If I understand you correctly it would be "weird" to say an Audi is 100% Audi...as it shares platforms & components across the VW range. Lotus cars are also weird since at their heart beats a Toyota engine and Lexus is the weirdest of all but if you want an expensive Toyota I have no problem with that. Rolls Royce, Bentley, and even Bugatti are by your definition weird as they share platforms and engines from VW corporate bin. I am sure you see the point, If Porsche & Lamborghini can have an SUV why not Maserati ? ...should we all be scared or full of vitriol ? Or should we just enjoy the fact we have so many different types of vehicles to choose from...hail diversity and give me a twin turbo V8 in my S-UA-v-crossoverthingy-yet-to-be-named-niche-vehicle-from-an-unknownmaker-asofyet...

Man how hard can it be to understand. I agree brands are using other parts, engines, platforms from other brands. BUT, AGAIN, what I'm saying is that they can't say 100% Maserati while doing this. I never saw a Lexus ad saying "100% lexus". You said: "Rolls Royce, Bentley, and even Bugatti are by your definition weird as they share platforms and engines from VW corporate bin". No man no what is you IQ, this is not weird at all, what is weird is what they say. If we come to the fact that you say your opinion about a car of mine. Yes it has a twin turbo V8 enginem, yes it is not and SUV but they name it SAV, yes it looks awkward and most people don't like it (the maker is BMW as well so I didn't get the unknownmaker-asofyat part but never mind). I totally respect that you don't like it, this is more usual than unusual. But, this has nothing to do with what we are talking right now and it puts you in a childish position even though I think your age is at least 15 or so... Be mature and try to keep your brain on what we talk but not your jealousy emotions

the side line is not that perfect but a heeeeellll lot better than I expected! I actually kinda like it! I think the rims design spoils it a little bit! that`s a poor excuse of rims!

I like it... looks almost production ready. My only two critisms are the Audi Q looking rear, and those alloys. The Granturismo and Quattroporte have very angular, geometric wheels which juxtaposed the curvy body. They should maintain that

Beside the front grill there is nothing Maserati about this. Looks like a Nissan/Infiniti SUV, and the rear is just pure Audi.

Hyundai and Kia teamed up to design the front end, Porsche Panamera and Nissan Murano combined features at the rear end. Side profile is mixed parts Jaguar, Maserati, Infiniti EX35, and Hyundai. About the only thing on this thats Italian is the engine and the name. Badda Boom Badda Bing Kubang you dead. Please change the name ASAP. Kubang sounds like juvenile slang for sex or like a big explosion or something.

Maserati... wrong wrong, and wrong!! If they want to build a AWD, they should keep it on the road, and make something like a shooting break, renew the Quattroporte and and add 4WD to it, or even a less SUV and a more crossover thing (thinking on the Evoque, CX 5, Countryman) to hit new costumers and increase the selling, a lot! Because with this... nobody wants an Italian SUV... And mostly because Porsche, Audi, BMW and Mercedes are already installed, this car kind look an EX or FX Infiniti, and a Nissan Murano has better looking... what were this Maserati CEOs and designers thinking of...? Sorry not a good looking car!!

The design is not ambitious, is not 2012 model, nothing is new ! Rear end like Audi Q5 , with a touch of Japanese cars. Engine should be forced induction like turbo or supercharger to have some torque. Gearbox is good so far. What maserati should do is to make it unique in one point at least ! Maserati strategically able to introduce an SUV. While Ferrari Not. So please do something really Italian and really unique.

If you should purchase this vehicle, expect three things: 1) exhorbidant purchase price 2) high maintinence costs 3) low to nil resale value after first year or two of ownership.

The designers at Kia and Infiniti must be puzzled why Maserati decided to benchmark their SAV's for this thing. The Maserati will definitely be a better driving, more luxurious, more visceral than the Kia and Infiniti for sure...but it still cannot be over-looked that it looks like a Kia/Infiniti chopped together.

You can count on uncontrollable viceral with manufacturing defects! I can attest the Infiniti FX50 is much better driver than this SAV, way better...its very hard to change a design to perform like a sportscar when its structure was primarily design to wallow over trails(Jeep G.C./Mercedez old ML). Like in the Coliseum Arena..two thumbs down, decapitate this creation! Its funny to hear the German boss brag about Mazerati having a history of making SUVs when it never had gone past a prototype..Pff plz, I take an Infiniti FX50 put an aftermarket blower and blow the socks out of this THING or even a VW V8 based Cayenne.
