2012 Brabus Rocket 800 based on the Mercedes-Benz CLS revealed [video]

German tuner makes another 'rocket' based on the CLS which makes for the ultimate sedan with 800 HP on tap

German tuner Brabus will be bringing this 2012 Brabus Rocket 800, based on the Mercedes-Benz CLS, to the Frankfurt motor show tomorrow for an official debut.

For the Rocket 800, the V12 on the CLS gets dialed up to 800 PS (588 kW / 789 hp) while torque has been limited to 1,100 Nm (811 lb-ft) - but the engine is capable of producing 1,420 Nm (1047 lb-ft). Transmission is the 7-speed AMG Speedshift MCT which allows the Rocket 800 to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 370 km/h (230 mph). The car makes it to the 300 km/h (186 mph) mark in 23.8 seconds.

On the outside is a body kit which includes the large air intakes that reworked power plant is going to need, as well as the usual fittings with widening wheel arches that big rear wing.

Wheels are the lightweight Brabus Monoblock F Platinum Edition and the cabin also gets an ultra-luscious finish.

Price on this ultimate sedan: €429,000, not including taxes.

I might say lose the wing, but I guess I want the extra stability at 370km/h...

I thought of the exact same thing. But I doubt that wing would be very efficient for 370km/h. The wing doesn't suit the car either way imho.

Also the wheels are very reminiscent of m3 csl wheels even the interior layout of Mercedes lately has been very similar to BMW's. Not complaining or objecting, just very similar. I thought MB would completely design their interiors differently but I guess their 'Marketing' efforts are not enough to surpass BMW in terms of sales.

Not bad at all, would just remove the opening above the grill, that looks out of place.

Actually, it is functional. It directs air to the Intake, as seen on their website. Although, I would 100% agree with you. :)

I think the top speed is more than 370 probably 375km. Anyway i'm waiting for the new Bullit with this engine. @e63mmm, Merc interiors are way better than BMW interior which look the same for 10 years!

Looks cool minus the rear spoiler. Hope there will be a shooting brake version. Brabus, maybe it is time for you guys to develop your own gearbox to take such torque or just ask koenigsegg how they do it.

Great machine. I don't like the spoiler, but since it is actually functional, it has to be there.

I wanna know how the v12 is like paired with the MCT 7 speed, it could make a world of difference compared to the ancient 5 speed auto for the past decade.
