2012 Lotus Exige teased for Frankfurt [video]

Revised styling, new engines

Lotus has already announced plans to introduce a variety of new models at the Frankfurt Motor Show, but here's our first official glimpse at the 2012 Exige.

Teased in a bizarre boxing-themed video, the company hints the "rules about to be re-written" by the updated sportscar which has aggressive front fascia, a prominent rear diffuser and a massive wing.

Lotus was coy on details, but previous reports have indicated the car will have an Evora-sourced 3.5-liter V6 engine with 280 PS (206 kW / 276 hp) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque. If that isn't powerful enough, the supercharged variant should have 350 PS (258 kW / 346 hp) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque.
