Merdad previews the McLaren MP4-12C Mehron GT
Coming next year
Merdad has released the first renderings of their upcoming McLaren MP4-12C called the MehRon GT.
On the styling front, the supercar has an aggressive wide body kit with a new front bumper, a ventilated hood and elongated fenders. There's also a revised rear fascia, high performance brakes and lightweight alloy wheels.
Inside, Merdad will offer bespoke interior customizations to ensure owners get exactly what they want.
The car will be launched sometime next year, so stay tuned for additional information.

Totally agreed.
The original is just a generic supercar. This adds some character to it.

The McLaren already has a stupid name, then you add on "oh i drive a Merdad McLaren MP4-12C Mehron GT" Also, as ugly and simple as the original is it has spent hundreds of hours in a wind tunnel at McLaren F1 dev center and has a perfectly calculated shape. I think by adding this kit you ruin the idea behind this car. It wasn't meant to look cool, or be cool, sound cool, have a cool name like the F1 did, this is the car for the guy who doesn't care about any of that and just wants a car that he can drive comfortably to the track without too many ppl looking at him and taking photos, then go destroy a few people on the track and return home in time for dinner with the wife and kids. It's the only car in it's performance category that is as conservative and well behaved and i think that's the idea, all the performance none of the flash. And because of that i think it will have it's own piece of the sports car market.

There's no doubt it will have its own market piece, but not for the reasons you stated, but mainly because it's a technologically advanced McLaren and the feel of exclusivity it brings, I guess. The performance part is OK but wouldn't most of the potential customers also appreciate a little, not much, flash ?

acquiring frank stephenson to design the mclaren shows how seriosu they are but a company called MER'DUH can do better and the handling of the mclaren compared to its rivals is rubbish..maybe they failed in the wind tunnel...should stick to racing while MUR'DUH should build their cars hahaha

Why the hell do Merdad think they know better than the team of designers and engineers at one of the most successful racing companies of all time?
Improved brakes? Oh do f**k off.
They will make 3 of these. One will go to China, one to Russia and one to UAE. And all 3 buyers will be idiots.

This is so fugly!! Puke!! If anyone has seen the 12C in person then you would know that pictures do not do it justice! I saw it at Pebble Beach at the Concorse D'elegance and it looks amazing! Besides this ruins the aero so much I can see this thing overheating and blowing up, the side vents for the engine were specially designed for precise airflow etc. If anything the Special Operations of McLaren can get you the parts to add on to your 12C to look like the GT3 and at least you can bring it back to original if you choose... This will have a zero resale value from the original!

Talking about being completely unnecessary and over doing it. This is McLaren, not Lamborghini! I don't see how form and function play a role here. That's not to say I completely dislike everything; I think the rear in the last two pic's are acceptable. Still, the GT3 puts it to shame. I'll hold final judgement if/when these "renderings" become a reality, but until then, the front and side need to be toned way down.

Mierda! This is more McLaren than stock. Fact. Great smoked concave wheels and rear end treatment is what the original ought to have been; dramatically aggressive with enhanced diffuser. Red hot sssmoking!
