2012 Lotus Exige spied vacationing in the Alps
Could debut in Frankfurt
Lotus is wrapping up development on the 2012 Exige, ahead of its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
As you can see, the updated model has an aggressive front fascia and new headlights. Out back, there's a new rear window, a prominent diffuser and a massive wing.
Inside, the cabin appears untouched. This is a little unfortunate, but not terribly surprising.
Engine options will likely be shared with the Evora, so expect a 3.5-liter V6 with 280 PS (206 kW / 276 hp) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque as well as 350 PS (258 kW / 346 hp) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque.

With an all new range of stunning looking cars already shown as a concepts- why bother with face lift? Can the old, outdated generation still earn enough? Great car, but time to move on!

They should be pooling their resources into the final development and testing of the new range of cars. The sooner they bring them to market, the better.

The reason they're updating the design will be to remain competitive in the marketplace, or at least not leave the market segment they have cornered, until the replacement arrives in THREE YEARS TIME at the very earliest. It is also possible that there have been legislative changes that have made revisions necessary.
Besides, the changes are going to be minor and not require many resources to accomplish.

I agree with that! What is the point of cooking the same chicken for third time?

The update is longer, wider with a new engine and mounts has resulted in a longer squarer rear thats is reminiscent of the noble m600.... Hope its as good as one
