Cadillac taunts Ferrari in latest ad [video]
Shows the 458 Italia as a follower
Cadillac is on a roll and their latest commercial is showing the company is feeling pretty confident about their newfound acclaim.
Titled Bellissimo, the clip highlights the fact that the Ferrari 458 Italia uses magnetorheological dampers that were pioneered by the American luxury brand. While the Italians have been using the Delphi-sourced component for awhile, Cadillac didn't have much to brag about until recently.

Actually this commercial makes sense. If you really don't have a taste, you buy this cadillac. Then if you buy this car, it is clear that you won't like a ferrari..

Maybe Ferrari borrowed it, but atleast they put that technology in the best supercar in the world, not this ugly piece of garbage. I would gladly spend $250K+ plus on a 458 Italia, I would never spend even $50K on a CTS-V or any Cadillac.

I see all of the hate towards GM & Cadillac but the real question is why didn't Ferrari invent this system since they are the best of the best ? Props to GM for innovation.

Everyone has their own preference. I've been in both cars and again the 458 was amazing...CTS-V not so much

one borrowed technology and their already bragging about it? common, all car companies borrow something from others. it is how they put the best technologies together.

if im not mistaking the germans put it first into audis. so, the purpose of this ad issss.... ?

Not true. Delphi developed magnetorheological shocks. They were a subusidiary of GM at the time and MRC was 1st installed in a production vehicle in 2004 in the Cadillac XLR and as an option on the SRX.

Despite all said, all Cadillac is trying to achieve is identify the CTS-V as a supercar the likes of Ferrari and not prove the Ferrari is copying or following them. Lets stop accusing manufacturers when they produce such awesome vehicles. Seing the coupe CTS-V moving around the streets is a sight for the eyes to enjoy. Good job Cadillac.

Cudos to Cadillac. BTW to those of you that are to blind or daft to grasp the concept of the ad........its not aimed at Muffy and Buffy who can buy a 458, its aimed at the folks who can afford a 50-70k car but want serious performance. The ad was never meant to sway Ferrari buyers. It kills me how Ferrari has a million and one fanboys 99% of which cant even afford their product. SMH

Cady misses the point: no reason to showcase for something maybe invented, but never used nicely.
Else imagine all random names to quote:
- company XYZ invented the steering wheel, but we Cady use it now... wooooh!
- company ABC invented the tyres, but we cady now have 4 of them :) ...

This commercial doesn't make sense. 125 years ago, Benz developed the first car. So everyone copied benz? Stupid commercial.

actually it was Cadillac that made the fist car that had 3 pedals(clutch, brake, gas) and a shift lever on the floor with a H gate. merc just made something with 4 wheels and an engine as did ford.

Cadillac is apparently and somewhat changing it's image. I'd even be looking for some super car in the near future. Maybe built on the Corvette C-7 chassis.

as a life long GM fan this commercial is embarrassing. Ferrari makes magic with the same suspension that cadi uses to stop the car from rolling over.

put MRC and SH-AWD together......you got yourself one of the best handling super cars in the world, just sayin...

I like what caddy did here. Sure the CTS-V will never outhandle a 458 but to say that they use similar technology makes it more appealing to their market. Its like their saying we have a kickass supercar that can fit your budget and perhaps beat a 458 in a dragrace?

Nowadays there is a lots of commercials without ethics this is usually from companies without solid statements of quality, another reason is because they have a power enemy that they can't defeat , BMW never do that, Mercedes never, Audi always compare theirs cars with Mercedes and BMW , and Cadillacs wants to enter to party of poor ethics commercials too. Ferrari always is a Ferrari so who care about Cadillac. Ferrari is history like Mercedes and BW so is enough to know that.
