Dodge Caliber gets axed later this year - report
Will be replaced by an Alfa Romeo-based model
This isn't terribly surprising, but a new report is indicating the Dodge Caliber will cease production later this year.
Originally launched in 2006, the model was criticized for having lackluster engines, a dreadful interior and a hatchback-only design. An SRT variant attempted to spice things up, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Caliber's fundamental flaws.
As we have previously reported, the car will be replaced by a new Alfa Romeo-based model that rides on the Compact Wide platform. It is scheduled to be introduced later this year and will likely feature a 1.4-liter FIRE MultiAir engine with up to 173 hp (129 kW / 175 PS).

It was a unique design for this class but nonetheless a failure. Alfa design is a good thing for American made small cars.

Best News of the Year! Like the Mitsubishi Carisma before it, a car that lacks the very quality the model name suggets. Caliber? More like low Calibre!! Good riddance to a bad idea.
