Ferrari 458 Italia body & paint shop [video]

Ferrari has released the third and fourth installments of their series which documents the construction of the 458 Italia.

In the latest clips, Antonio Ghini visits the bodyshell production area and paint shop. First and foremost, employees carefully weld the car together and perform a variety of quality checks. Once this is completed, the car is sent to the the paint shop where it is dusted off by Emu feathers before receiving approximately 5 kg (11 lbs) of paint.

"you can't weld different metals together" Really!!??...try telling Mazda that one, they have been successfully welding Aluminium and High Strength Steel together in their RX-8 Rear Doors Hood and trunks and in MX-5 for over 10 years.

Many Auto makers use Water Base Paints plus clear top coats over the past few years, Ford and Mazda Japan uses a 3 Layer Wet Water (Aqua Tech) base paint system with clear top Coat in Solid or Mica Paints which started back in 2009.

I believe BMW uses Emu feathers also.
