Volkswagen Bulli coming in 2014?
A modern day Microbus
Volkswagen hasn't been coy about their desire to build the Bulli concept, but a new report is indicating the vehicle could be made in Puebla, Mexico and launched in 2014 as part of a new heritage range including the Beetle.
Essentially a modern day Microbus, the production verison would reportedly drop the electric powertrain and feature conventional engines. This might disappoint the eco-friendly hippies, but it's probably a concession to make the vehicle profitable.
While Volkswagen hasn't confirmed anything, Walter de'Silva said executives are "very serious" about production and the model could play an important role in emphasizing the brand's heritage.

VW need to add a third row seat and they get a winner. After which, VW can count on me to buy one to haul my big family.

I prefer the original 2001 VW Microbus concept that had sliding doors and three rows of seats. It would have been the only minivan with any character.

I really like the Bulli I'd buy one if it stays true to the concept. If it were any bigger with a third row of seats or sliding doors it would just be a crappy retro styled mini van. In it's concept form I see it as compition to the Mini Countryman.

From a corporate perspective, what do you think VWAG wants to make, competition for the Mini Countryman or competition for minivans?

If this is supposed to be a Microbus, shouldnt it have tons of storage? Shouldnt it be longer? If the idea is to go small, then it should have a hybrid or a diesel option. I think VW should build a LWB version of it with a fold in floor 3rd row, panoramic roof, and fit it with Audi's supercharged 3.0 V6, air suspension, and Quattro AWD. Fit it with 17" wheels and make 20" wheels optional. That would be cool, especially if it can get 20/28mpg.

Ditch the iPad. I don't want Apple in my bus. Need a full length sun roof.
