Here's a great series of videos produced by BMW Blog on the new M5 - basically, it's everything you wanted to know about the construction of the car.
The tour of the M facility is hosted by Albert Biermann, chief of M Engineering, and he takes his time to explain the car in detail.
Biermann even takes us under the car and shows us a few neat features of the new M5 such as the fact that the rear axle is connected directly to the body for a stiffer rear end of the vehicle, something done with race cars but uncommon for a road-going passenger car.
