2012 Lotus Exige to get V6 engine - report
Styling tweaks also expected
According to a recent report, Lotus is developing an updated Exige for 2012.
AutoCar says the model will have a longer wheelbase, a wider track and more aggressive styling. We can also expect higher quality materials which should result in a nicer cabin.
Engine options will reportedly carryover from the Evora, so expect a 3.5-liter V6 with 280 PS (206 kW / 276 hp) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque. There could also be a supercharged variant that produces 350 PS (258 kW / 346 hp) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque.

let's see if they make this. how much do you think that V6 plus hardware and tub weight more? 200lb? still way lighter than a evora.

You are looking at the last hurrah for both Elise and Exige models finished off in matte black paintwork. Lotus's ambitious 6-model plan in this decade should not be taken lightly as they begin to think radically for once since Colin Chapman passed away! The new Elise and Exige (coming 2016) will gain not only two more cylinders, but also more power pulling less kerbweight than any rival in their segments. Speaking of radical, wait till you see their all-new designs! Another thing; no more Toyota engines!!
