Audi City E-tron Concept spied in Berlin
City E-tron Concept is the spiritual successor of the Volkswagen L1 Concept which debuted in Frankfurt in 2009
Our spy photographers have caught up with this Audi City E-tron Concept during a video shoot in Berlin.
The Audi City E-tron is a two-seater, pod car whereby the passenger seat is located directly behind the driver. The car drove soundlessly, so it obviously runs on electric power. Not confirmed, however, is whether the car is a plug-in hybrid or a fully-electric vehicle.
This concept represents a continuation of Volkswagen's L1 Concept which debuted at Frankfurt two years ago. That concept's goal was to create a car that has a fuel-economy of around 1 liter/100 km or 235 mpg (U.S.).
We expect the concept to debut next month at the Frankfurt motor show.

Good idea of Audi. Since the average age of the Audi driver is 50+ this is will be their next car (voiturrette). On the back there will be an option for a "walker" or for "crutches". Knowing Audi these will be made from carbon fibre and will cost at least ? 2,500.

At least it doesn't look identical to every other car in Audi's current line-up.

Why can't they just stick to the A1 etron and ditch this 2 seat go-cart? It's a decade since the L1, if it made sense it would have been selling right now!

if this is what the future looks like - I'll pass, thanks a lot. I'd rather take the BMW i3 which isn't a thing of beauty - but at least closer to a car than this thing.

How come nearly every electric car looks horrible? Telsa make the only e-cars that are worth looking at.
Also, in the picture, why have they pixelated the back of that man's head? Strange.

I would rather ride a bike, or motorcycle. This thing honestly makes the BMW i3 look that much better.

Who in earth wants the future if it looks like this. Basic human right to the esthetically developed human space which took centuries of hard work to achieve in Europe is gone for good and our freedom with it. Just awful.
