2012 Porsche Carrera S teased for upcoming Need for Speed game [video]

Next-generation 911 Carrera S is featured in a new game called The Run by Need for Speed

Need for Speed: The Run is a new video game by Electronic Arts which will feature the upcoming 2012 Porsche Carrera S in a race from San Francisco to New York alongside the Lamborghini Aventador and the new 2012 Camaro ZL1.

Watch the video for a quick tease of the upcoming 911 Carrera S with a fractured view of its front face which includes a look at one of those new headlights.

It's also fun to see the new ZL1 run an E90 M3 coupe off the road, as if to say, "Get out of the way, outdated sucka!"

"It's also fun to see the new ZL1 run an E90 M3 coupe off the road, as if to say, "Get out of the way, outdated sucka!" really??? wrong in more than one way, 1st there is no car called a "E90 m3 coupe" its either E90 sedan or E92 coupe. and 2nd, well as Sita mentioned already thats a 1M

dont like this game :( i like need for speed, but i feel now they're trying too hard to appeal to hollywood action movie fans, and not so much car fans anymore.

Have you tried playing Shift and Shift 2 unleashed with a steering wheel? It's really great! Imo these two are the best from the whole nfs series...

There is a 1M coupe there and also an e30 m3 which is very surprising yet ballistic. Most car nuts know and respect the e30 m3. :) I like a lot.

Don't know where the e90 m3 came from. As I could see there was none.

WCF, this isn't the 2012 911 Carrera S. They probably will have the 991 in their game, but for this video, they used the 997. Those are dynamic cornering lights of the 997, and in the clip where it drives by, the mirrors have the same mount as the 997's. Plus, the 991 will have sort of a "surprise" on the headlights, and this isn't the surprise...

That's not the part I'm talking about. Right after the "teaser" there is a black 911 blasting past in a blur, and it's the 997. The point of this "teaser" wasn't to preview the 991, but to show that it would be in the game. The car they are showing though is not the 991, it is the 997. They're probably doing this because Porsche would never be the type of company to let a video game tease an upcoming model.

as Porsche stated N?rburgring Time: 991 S "Best setup" in 7:37. that?s faster than a 997.2 GT3 the car is gonna be awesome!

No idea why they are teasing it, because we already know what it looks like - same as the original. The design never changes, so this "teaser" isn't helpful in any way.

Porschephiles are looking forward to heavily discuss the minor changes that make this highly sophisticated, iconic car a little better.

They have to appeal to the rednecks that play computer games as well... But for transcontinental cruising (which the game is) the Camaro shouldn't be that bad.

I'm waiting for Google to release an online racer with the entire western world mapped out in 3D accuracy. Imagine free roaming around the US and Europe. Actually, spending hours getting from one city to the next would be a pain.

IMHO, I think it's high time an NFS movie franchise develops on the big screen. It's got to guarantee a Box Office hit with these seriously sick cars. The 911 is tortuously tantalising in the NFS video; you just want to see more of it!! The game should be a sell-out hit anyway, but GT series is somehow better.
