Campaign appeals to nostalgia for the old 500 with a 50s-themed ad

Fiat has launched a new ad campagin in the United States for the North American-spec 500.

The national campaign kicked off on August 1st with the ad posted below and features the tagline "Simply More". It shows a couple in a new 500 hitting a drive-in and looking at footage of the 500 of old. The ad aims to strike a nostalgic chord while at the same time conveying the new 500's stylishness and practicality.

The video above shows Fiat USA North American brand chief Laura Soave explaining the ad campaign.

I live in the Memphis, TN area and we have one Fiat dealer here. I have still not seen any cars on the road. Does anyone know how this Fiat is selling in the US?

You guys will like the Abarth! I've got a good feeling some will be modified with big power in the states! The 1368cc is good for 280bhp/trq with no internal changes.

I had been hoping they'd call it Cinquecento (Italian for 500) like in Europe but I guess they're being cautious with the American market.
