Bugatti Galibier confirmed for production

 Bugatti Galibier confirmed for production
Bugatti 16C Galibier

Targeted output of 1,000 to 1,500 units

In a recent interview with Auto Motor und Sport, Bugatti President Wolfgang Dürheimer revealed some interesting new details about the 2013 Galibier.

Crafted to become the "undisputed" leader in the luxury segment, the Galibier will be launched in late 2012 and feature a sixteen-cylinder engine which is rumored to produce 800 PS (588 kW / 789 hp) to 1,000 PS (735 kW / 986 hp). Furthermore, since the vehicle is more practical than the Veyron, Dürheimer estimates the company will be able to sell 1,000 to 1,500 units.

Pricing hasn't been set, but the executive hinted the Galibier will cost more than €1,000,000 ($1,440,000 / €875,000).

The world will be a better place with a car of this calibre. Take a bow Monsieur Galibier! Think Lamborghini Estoque and you're there.

A very unique automobile, just like the Veyron.

The Venom GT goes 0-200 mph in 15.9 seconds. Yeah. The venom weighs just a little more than half the Bettina weight. Lightness has 2 advantages and power has one. Lightness lets you accelerate faster, and when you get to the corner you can go around faster, plus while braking later. And the venom has the same power too. 1200 hp. Plus $600,000 is still a huge amount of money. I think we should all drive 1000 hp reliant robins styled like our living rooms. That would be fun.

I bite even though that post is nothing more than troll. Venom GT is nothing special, plenty tuners have done before as seen on http://www.caral.co.uk/Lotus_111_Series.html, http://www.motorauthority.com/news/1031832_uk-garage-introduces-v8-powered-lotus-extrema . Asking more than $600,000 for Exige on steroid is another trademark ripoff from Hennessey. 1200 hp on that kind is useless for street use, at most 700 hp. 1000 hp on such lightweight rwd means less traction. This is Bugatti topic here, crook like Hennessey has no business.

How did a Veyron vs Hennessey Venom argument start? Are some of you really that determined to have a pointless and tedious debate? Anyway, I think cars like this are good for Bugatti. They've got the Veyron (oh, that's how), and now they can also go back to outrageously extravagant and expensive 4-seat GTs like they used to do way back when. Maybe a 2-seat version too with a more luxury-biased feel than the Veyron that evokes the Type 57? The only problem as I see it is the slightly Germanic styling.

Any of us with that kind of money would not be drooling over it on WorldCarFans.com, millionnaires and billionaires who can afford it dont have time to see websites such as these and comment about such hyper exotic/dream cars. They have people who have people who arrange things for them.

I think venom gt is a great car, but veyron is a totally different category, just look at the interior and the looks of it... One is a race CAR, the other is an everyday rocket ... Plus i think at goodwood the driver maybe just wasn't as godo as the guy on the venom, and didn't want to' slow him down... I would do the sane if i had a proffessional race driver behind me, eventually if he had a worst car than a Venom! Thumbs up to Bugatti for making cars that even a fat milionarie can drive... Now he can also bring 3 other friends or hoes with him to enjoy his 1000 hp!! This is the right marketing strategy to Sell, not to win at Goodwood... I think this is what matters to' car makers. Personally i would buy a veyron Ss among almost all ( zonda huayra rules ) sport cars and a gulliber among all sedans.

In MY opinion, I would rather have it because I wouldn't need to transport 4 people at once. Plus, the venom GT isn't ugly, can go around a corner, is faster in a straight line, AND IT MADE A VEYRON SS BACK DOWN FROM A FIGHT AT GOODWOOD.

Please. The Venom GT is a POS compared to the already iconic Veyron. John Hennessey should be kicked in the nuts for slapping that price tag on the car.

Lol! To all of you that are saying, "even if I had the money, I wouldn't buy it" or "I would rather buy an RR". someone even mentioned an S65!..... you are thinking with the size and perspective of your four and five-figure salaries. You can't even think about this vehicle with a high six-figure salary. Everyone that is targeted by this vehicle is making high seven to eight-figure income. Last time I checked, the number of such individuals exceed 1500 worldwide. EVERY LAST ONE OF THESE VEHICLES ARE SPOKEN FOR!.....including all the special "special" editions of this already ultra exclusive edition. RR? Please! It doesn't even exist on the same level. So, please get a clue and get your poor man mentality straight.

What a lot of you are forgetting is the people who buy these cars ALREADY have RR's, Ferrari's, Lambos etc etc. This will just be another car in their stable of exotica.

Imagine what you could with that money, i wouldn't buy it at all even if i had the money. Id rather use that money to buy a Rolls Royce.

Person who would buy this already has RR, and Bentley and Lambo and Ferrari and any other exotic known to man.

Of course you would rather go for a RR because based on what you currently drive (regardless of what it is), the money and luxury for a RR is your ultimate dream beyond which anything more is unimaginable, unfathomable and downright incredulous. If you were already riding around in said RR, this car will be the logical step up..... wait!..... it will be your ONLY step up if you plan to be transparted on land otherwise, you will be in a private jet.

1000 to 1500 units? I doubt they will sell that much. Especially at that price.

That's what people said about the Veyron..It's sold out now. Given that people are now richer than they were when Veyron came out, I don't see them having trouble pushing 1500 units in 4-5 years.

Lmao! You either live under a rock or you have chosen to be ignorant of the economic environment of the planet called Earth. They will sell all 1500 and then the special editions that will come after that..... and then the special, special editions that will come after the special editions...... need I continue?

This does not appeal like the veyron and at that price would not pull much costomers.
