Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0 UK preview [video]

Porsche describes the new 911 GT3 RS 4.0 as the 'most hardcore street legal 911 yet'

The night before the 2011 Goodwood Festival of Speed, Porsche held a preview/unveiling of the 911 GT3 RS 4.0 for its UK customers.

Porsche describes the 911 GT3 RS 4.0 as the "most hardcore street legal 911 yet" and the car does boast one the biggest hp/liter figures around for a naturally-aspirated unit - 125 hp/liter (92 kW) from the 4.0 liter engine.

The 911 GT3 RS 4.0 will be limited to a run of just 600 units. The 4.0 liter engine is sourced from the race-bred 911 GT3 RSR and has a total output of 500 PS (368 kW / 493 bhp) and 460 Nm (339 lb-ft). Transmission will be a six-speed sport gearbox.

The car weighs just 1,360 kilograms (2998 lbs) and does the 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint in 3.9 seconds.

The Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0 sells for €178,596, VAT included, in Germany. UK prices start at £128,466.

Hmm...... that puts it equal to the S2000 for HP/Liter figure. Shame that 12 yrs have passed no road car engines have done that. The Turbo kingdom is taking over !

It is a lot easier to make high HP per liter when the engine is smaller. Do some research on physics dink.
