Audi R8 facelift coming next year - report
New transmission, upgraded engines
The Audi R8 is nearly five years old and the first details are starting to emerge about the facelifted model.
According to Car Magazine, the updated R8 will launch sometime next year with more powerful engines. Sources suggest the 4.2-liter V8 will produce 444 hp (331 kW / 450 PS) while the 5.2-liter V10 gets uprated to 533 hp (397 kW / 540 PS). More importantly, there are rumors of a seven-speed S-tronic transmission which would likely replace the current R-tronic.
Styling changes will likely be minor, so expected restyled headlights and modest tweaks to the fascias.

I see it already, they are going to soften the look just like they did with the facelifted S5.

Hope it looks like the '09 etron concept and not softened crap like the A5. Explains the transmission mule from some time back.

5 years on and it really hasn't aged visually one bit. Still looks as fresh as a daisy.

That's true actually, and it can still turn heads after all this time

I always liked the R8 look & manufacturers don't dare change their best cars too much aesthetically, so I'm not worried. I hope its true it gets a dual clutch S Tronic but I'm skeptical. They havent given it to Lamborghini yet so its probably unlikely.

Lambo have been given the rights to develop their own Transmission for the Avenatdor, Audi didn`t want them to take the s-tronic in order to boost lambo?s own personality.
