The M3 DTM Concept Car marks BMW's return to DTM racing after an absence of 20 years
Here's the official video introduction of the 2012 BMW M3 DTM racer, whose unveiling took place at BMW Welt on July 15. The M3 DTM is a racer meant to take on arch-rivals Audi and Mercedes-Benz in the German touring car series next year.
BMW Motorsport has announced that the M3 DTM's drivers will be Andy Priaulx (GB) and Augusto Farfus (BR). BMW last raced in the German touring masters series back in 1992.
The BMW M3 DTM Concept Car is powered by an air-restricted V8 engine, in accordance with DTM's technical regulations, which has an output of around 480 PS (353 kW / 473 bhp). 0 to 100 km/h clocks in at about three seconds and the car has a top speed of approximately 300 km/h (186 mph).
