Audi S7 caught undisguised

 Audi S7 caught undisguised
2012 Audi S7 spy photo 22.7.2011 / SB-Medien

Another reason to forget the 5-Series GT

If you weren't impressed by spy photos of the S6 and S6 Avant, perhaps these pictures of the S7 will be more to your liking.

Caught undisguised in Europe, the prototype gives us a pretty good glimpse at car's aggressive front fascia, aerodynamic side skirts and modified rear bumper. In typical S fashion, the model is also outfitted with a sports suspension, high-performance brakes (carbon ceramic ones on this tester) and a four-tailpipe exhaust system.

The interior appears to carryover without any major changes, but there's a sport steering wheel and S7 badging on the instrument cluster.

Power is expected to be provided by a 4.0-liter V8 engine with approximately 440 PS (324 kW / 434 hp).  This isn't a huge increase compared to the 5.2 FSI V10, but engineers were focused on improving fuel efficiency and reducing emissions.

Now all it needs is mirrors chroming and affixing the S badges.

That swooping rear deck does not look good on Audis. Fugly.

Doesn't really do much for me. Bland and un-inspiring. The new Jag XJ supersport or XKR is a much more inspiring car, fresh, unique and oozes quality and class.

XKR??????? What the hell are you talking about. Your comparing apples and oranges there guy. I can GUARANTEE that no one is going to be cross shopping a s7 and a XKR....... Thats like comparing a bmw z4 and a mercedes benz cls

Don't like this, the whole car looks weird especially rear, not a fan of four door coupe trend in general...

Right with you. This looks a bit weird and still it looks like every single other Audi.

The A7 is a very nice car. I've driven the "standard" car here in the U.S. and the only negative thing I'll say is to avoid the large wheels. I think 18s would be ideal. The 20 inch wheels ruin everything.

Sorry, that's just weak. Even the new CLS 550 will be probably almost as strong as the S7, but the current CLS 63 AMG has got so much more power with 525 HP - WITHOUT performance package.

the RS7 would compete with cls63-amg NOT the S7. Thats like comparing the M3 and the S5, you compare it to the RS5..... Why don't you think before speaking next time.

And who really gives a flying fig? Seriously. What would one do with all that power, other than ignore it? I love the cry for more power. Exhausts sound like crap. The power isn't used. Fuel will only be more expensive. Cars are getting more and more massive/heavy. And what do all the little boys get their knickers tangled about? Not enough power. Good gawd.

Seriously, people complaining about more power. Computer deskjockeys. Most of the time when I see these cars they are just hanging out doing the speed limit or less. I saw a new Bentley the other day. What was it doing? A little less than the speed limit. Seriously, do you really think that the majority of people who buy these cars are enthusiasts?

First, I just love the new direction Audi is going with their new design philosophy. It's a much more evolved look that's venturing away from that bulbous upside down bath tub mold, into something more fluid and sculpted. When the time comes to trade-in, I'll definitely take a longer look at Audi. Second, it's no secret that the new Chrysler 300 may have been influence by Audi, but I find it absolutely laughable to see a pic of the new 300 in a featured article right next to this one; both being at exactly the same angle, and of the same color. If there were ever any doubts of the 300's similarity to Audi's I think this proves it's undeniable! Geely 300 anyone?

Sorry but 300C photos were leaked before the new A6 was release by almost 7months. So we cannot say the 300 looks like an Audi.

That goes for current Audi's as well. And it doesn't have to look like any of the new Audi model's. That front end has more in common with an Audi, past or present, than it does with any 300 model. So, ya see, yes, I can!
