Mercedes owner catches car thief with forklift [video]
Crime doesn't pay
Crime doesn't pay, especially if you're a Norwegian car thief who tries to steal from this guy.
The owner apparently heard the would-be thief starting his Mercedes so he used a forklift to raise the car's front end to prevent the criminal from escaping. The strategy ultimately worked and the thief was arrested, but the E-Class was damaged in the process.

It smells like an insurance fraud to me,the old man in the tractor at the right time and place, the neighbours with the camera, the thief so stupid, so weird...

Well for one, it's convenient for the oil change :)
Else he could have parked the tractor just in front of the benz... same effect.

And let crime pay? As well as probably increasing his insurance premiums in the process? This clip is probably as rigged as a WWE match but, living in South Africa, I can see why he would want to do that.

First of all I can confirm that this is not a rigged clip. And the mercedes belongs to the thief. The thief is not a car thief but had broken into the farmers supermarked. On the other hand the farmer is now being sued because of the damages done to the car, but since this is Norway I don't think he will get far with his claims. After all he is a thief:) Source: http://www.vg.no/nyheter/innenriks/artikkel.php?artid=10096668

In France, the owner of the car would have been sued by the theif for sequestration (forced confinment)...
