did I get these numbers correct? 236k for panamera!!!
CTS-V can give you the same numbers and will only cost you 65 thousand dollars.

the type of person buying this car would never make such a comparison, so I'd say Porsche has nothing to worry about based on price points. Speaking of price, I'm sure no buyer would even venture to ask. They'd just sit there picking out every detail and feature they want, and then the purchase order is sent to their accountants to cut the cheque. That's how truly rich people car shop

The pricing is different for each market. So saying it cost $236k in the US is WRONG. Converted, that's how much it costs in Germany (prices are always higher in the EU than the US). The base US price is $173,200.

Who the hell even thought to compare a PORSCHE with a Caddy? Are you mad? Are you on medication? First of all like the other comments: the quality of the Porsche is in a whole other league. Second: It's impossible for a caddy to deliver such an experience as the panamera, simply because that no other car can rival the Porsche experience and history.

MotorTrend tested CTS-V against Panarama Turbo S, and there is about a full second difference to 60mph. And that is only the straight line.
But then again.. it is half the price.

ya but the caddy isnt as well put together and crafted as a panamera its about the craftsmanship of the porsche cadillac is built by robots while this is handbuilt and limited

The Price in Canada starts around 190k plus taxes so 230k seems right. Totally overpriced. You might as well buy a Turbo S and a Ford Focus for when you have to drive your kids around. It be much cheaper :) I dont think a single guy or a couple without kids would buy this.

Who owns a Porsche AND a Ford Focus ? Seriously...
I'd say it's about the right price when you see the prices for say a Mercedes S63

Buyers are crossshopping this with like the Rapide and Quattroporte GT. Those models just became a bad influence on Porsche for pricing. This car is a guaranteed hoot nonetheless (as much as I hate the concept).

North Americans must KNOW how desirable European cars are? Sure your Cadillac is cheaper and almost as fast (bear in mind the Porsche Panamera Turbo is the fastest four-door saloon in the world) but the quality, attention-to-detail, equipment and interior of the Cadillac or in fact, most North American cars can't even come close to most of their European rivals.

@droid_dtm... correct... and BTW whether you like this car or not I think it is impossible not to take your hat off when you see this "small" expression of German engineering and technology... everyone else has a lot to learn about these marvels, "little" details that can totally make your day :)... just brilliant

Talk about a double insult to a lot of sports cars. It'll leave them for dead at the lights and they have to look at that behind in the process... Besides the design at the back, I firmly believe the Panamera is in a class of it's own. Base Turbo is faster than S65 at the price of S63 (where I am)...can't go wrong with that.
