The Porsche Panamera Turbo has set a record lap time for a four-door production car at the Shanghai Formula One Circuit.
The luxed-out Porsche cruiser posted a time of 2:29.640 minutes last June 13 for a lap around the track.
The video produced here tells the story of the lap record, an achievement which may seem a little hampered by the huge caveat of it being for a four-door coupe. But the record probably matters a lot to shoppers for a car in this class.
And the performance you see here really shows how much Porsche delivers in this four-door coupe segment. It's a high-performance sports car that happens to seat four adults comfortably. The record was set with a standard Panamera Turbo whch features a 4.8 liter bi-turbo V8 with an output of 500 PS (368 kW / 493 bhp) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft).
The only compromise for the buyer is the hefty price tag.
