2012 Audi S6 Avant strips for the camera

Our spy photographers have snapped the first undisguised images of the 2012 Audi S6 Avant.

Caught near the company's Nürburgring testing facility, the prototype features aggressive bumpers, revised side skirts and a four-tailpipe exhaust system. Elsewhere, there's a sport-tuned suspension, high-performance brakes and massive alloy wheels.

Power will likely be provided by a 4.0-liter V8 with approxomitely 440 PS (324 kW / 434 hp), so you probably won't want to race an E63 AMG Estate anytime soon.

New design?? I bet someone who is not into cars cannot tell an A4 from an A6 or an A8. Audi made an excellent design and then turned it sad, very sad across its whole range.

Couldn't agree more with PAA, I rescpect A5 for his beautiful and original design, but rest are copies A6, A8 especially A4 is the worse, @ BILLIONAIRE, trust me you can tell difference between merc c and e, respect good critics and don't be such a mad fanboy.

I know, for a car website you think they would realize that the RS6 competes against the e63 amg estate. NOT THE S6. but its funny the S6 avant already looks better than e63 estate, so i can only imagine how sick the RS6 is going to look

I agree with you, especially because it still has the s-line exteriour package and will most probably look different when it is showed to the publich officially for the first time. Can't wait!

Imo, I found Audi to be a double-edged German car marque by designing conservative cars (except the R8 variants) that possessed tremendous torque through performance and body trim levels (i.e. RS) levels. It is like wolves in sheep clothing. And yes, I am excited by the the upcoming-gen S6 potential to compete alongside its arch-rivals.
