Offered for the Acura RSX, Chevrolet Corvette & Toyota MR-2

DDR Motorsport has unveiled their new Miami GT kit car.

Based on the Acura RSX (2002-2006), Chevrolet Corvette (1997-2002) or Toyota MR-2 (1989-1996), the conversion package includes a tubular chassis, a fiberglass body and various other necessities. However, the three kits in do not offer an engine, transmission, suspension, steering system and door mirrors from a Mazda RX-7 - among other things. You'll have to source a donor car yourself to fill in the blanks.

The end result is a hodgepodge of generic supercar styling, so would it be enough to separate you from roughly $19,500 (€13,950) for the kit? And when all is said and done, you're looking at a total cost of approximately $50,000 (€35,750.

I THINK they had the Mclaren f1 in mind when they designed this kit. I could be wrong though... /s

I think so. I mean this car look like the sort of video game version of a Mclaren F1, when the game producers did not get the licence to do so.

I admit, it does look very F1 inspired. BUT...so do some other cars. This actually looks like one of those 'small volume' independent manufacturers who charge ?250k for something very left field. In all honesty, if you turned up in one of these, people would assume it's something that has a crazy RRP. From looking at their website, you'd have to go for the 'vette engine option :)

The interior is just awful, but at that price, who cares. I can understand how some people may be interested in this.

This car is a Kit Car. It was first conceived as the DDR SP4 (indicating a 4-cylinder engine) in 2001 and then introduced the DDR SP8 in mid 2004 or so. Diego Grullon and Juan Ovalle both of the Dominican Republic are the creators of this fiberglass body styled using the legendary Mclaren F1 as inspiration. Source: http://www.ddrmotorsport.com/

This is one of the few kit car companies that hasn't been a front for frauds looking to just steal people's money. The kit-car industry has a bad, and very well earned, reputation. DDR is a great story of a guy looking to make a name for himself instead of just a quick buck.

I guess noone actually looked up the website and the specs on the 3 different kits. The kits start at mid teens in price abd after adding the engine and all other needed parts it runs for $31k for the mr2 version, about $34k for the honda/acura version and about $40k for the LS1 motor (corvette or camaro). The kit has everything to make the car drivable.
