A new rendering of the JP1 supercar, and a prototype, were revealed in Australia.

Aussie supercar builder Joss Developments Limited revealed new renderings of their tentatively-named JP1 supercar, painted red, to audiences in Melbourne. Introduced alongside the matte black JP1 prototype, company reps made the surprise announcement that the car will be capable of hitting 360 km/h (224 mph). That's a full 20 km/h (12 mph) faster than previously reported.

Other than that, the car was mostly as expected when it was shown off at the Australian International Motor Show in Melbourne today. The company said they will build 25 production units when it eventually comes to market.

The JP1 makes use of a 500-horsepower (373 kW / 507 PS) aluminum V8 with a 6.6-liter displacement hooked up to a Albins Zeroshift Automated Manual Transmission (AMT). This gives the car a sub-3.0 second 0-100 km/h (62 mph) time and a 0-160 km/h (0-100 mph) time of just 6.0 seconds.

Pricing for the vehicle had previously been set at AU$500,000 ($526,000 / €369,000).

very nice lines . devoid of all the fancy dented surfaces of today's supercars . front air intake needs to be widened a bit though for a better proportioned distribution . same goes for the side ducts which requires some rework as it spoils the overall side elevation look of the automobile .

Looks like a Zonda/F430/Koenigsegg-Mix.

A decent styling upgrade, and it uses the brilliant ZeroShift transmission (quicker, lighter and more efficient than any other transmission). With over 500bhp/tonne and a very drawn out development, this could actually be a very good car.

Headlights and whole rear end designs show great effort to make the JP1 different. However, from the black prototype I can see strong F1 McLaren design cues which is not a criticism but a compliment to this new Aussie supercar outfit. The price? Strewth! Hope it sounds, goes and corners unlike anything Holden has built in their history! The figures are quite stimulating though.

For those who think this is expensive for what it is, I'd be inclined to disagree. Remember that the 500k figure is in Australian dollars. Every dollar over approx 57k that a vehicle sells for is collected by the Socialist Labor Party through the Luxury Car Tax (on top of the 10% GST and other taxes), so if it were ever to be exported to the US or UK, expect it to be saleable at a lot less. Also, the Aventador is predicted to cost as much as 750-800k when it arrives here, so performance-wise, this could be seen as comparatively cheap.
