2012 BMW 6-Series Gran Coupe spied with the M-Package
Hunting the CLS
With the Frankfurt Motor Show just around the corner, BMW is wrapping up development on the 6-Series Gran Coupe.
Unlike yesterday's prototype, this particular model is outfitted with the M-Package. The car appears to have an aggressive front fascia, revised side skirts, a modified rear bumper and unique alloy wheels.
Since the M-Package is more about styling than performance, we can expect it to be offered on the full range of 6-Series Gran Coupes. Notable petrol options are slated to include a 300 hp (224 kW / 304 PS) 3.0-liter inline-six and a 400 hp (298 kW / 406 PS) 4.4-liter V8. On the diesel side, we can expect two 3.0-liter units rated at 204 hp (152 kW / 207 PS) and 245 hp (183 kW / 248 PS).

How is this a coupe? At least MB's and Audi's roof line continues through the trunk lid. This looks like a regular sedan. I think the front looks just like all other BMW.

From what I can see I don't think the CLS is under any threat whatsoever. This design is not close but its not a bad design. As far as BMW's recent work goes this is much better than most.

OK, I appreciate the fact that it's true to classic BMW lines, the shark nose front, hoffmeister kink, lean forward aggressive stance, but, I really do not see the point of this car. In essence it's a slightly more stylish version of the new 5 Series. This thing will have to be one hell of a drive to convince otherwise.

Some how the front of both this and the 6er coupe have a funny looking front.

I, for one, can't find anything wrong with BMW's expansion plans. This car would be GREAT!! I just love all these new models BMW is making. This car is HOT. Now, if they would make a 5 cabriolet, the world is theirs!!! I still think the new 1-Series is dog-ugly!!

I think this car looks great...
But is there any difference in the shape of the Front Fascia between the Gran Coupe and the current 6 Series?
